  1. What are the terms of the Purchase Contract?
Our purchase contract spells out details of a) materials to be supplied and the sixty (60) year limited warranty; b) any verbal agreements included (in writing) as part of the written contract; c) US delivery arrangements (FOB: mill or site); d) cancellation by buyer or seller; and e) changes in materials list by buyer or seller.

  2. What is the quality of the components being supplied?
The manufacturer has sought out the highest quality accessories needed for the assembly and finishing of your home package.  These components have (usually) been tested by the Log Home Council, the log home magazines, etc., and are under warranty by their original manufacturers. We will not supply lower price accessories to assemble your home if it compromises the finished home in any way.

  3. What type logs will be shipped?
The manufacturer we represent utilizes a "random length" log system rather than a precut, pre-assembled, pre-numbered system for the following reasons:  a) "random length" log system allow full flexibility to make changes at the job site; b) if a particular log is damaged and/or unsuitable for any reason, another "random" log can be substituted, whereas a pre-numbered log has to wait until a replacement can be shipped; c) there is no "puzzle" of finding the right number while the job is in progress; d) al corner notches are precut at the factory.

  4. What species of wood will be supplied?
Only Tidewater Red Cypress, a wood species that is naturally resistant to termite attack and highly resistant to rot. All our logs come with a 60-year Limited Warranty against termite infestation and rot!

  5. Will the logs be green, air dried, etc?
All Tidewater Red Cypress logs are air dried, but any wood species (cypress, pine, cedar, oak, fir, etc) will stabilize or equalize their moisture content at the relative humidity present at the building site location.

  6. Are the logs treated with a preservative before delivery?
Tidewater Red Cypress already have a natural preservative: Cypressene. There is no need to  apply additional preservatives to repel termites.

  7. Are the logs pressure treated against rot and decay before delivery?
No.  Heart cypress will not accept pressure treatment due to its unique grain system.
